| What to do: |
| 1) |
Choose a book title. You may use an existing title or make one up. |
| 2) |
Think about the type of content and design style you want to use. |
| 3) |
Gather all of your content you may want to use and more and more and more and then gather content you may not want to use. You may use photographs and art work, preferably your own. |
Thoughts: Contrary to the saying: “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” we all do judge a book by it’s cover. By appealing to a reader’s emotions we prod him to pick-up and read the book, but beware of just creating “shock” value. The cover MUST depict the contents of the book! Think about all design principles and elements as you develop a concept for the cover. Especially those design elements that trigger an emotional response (i.e. texture, motion, color, etc.) You may use photographs and other pre-printed materials, but use of your own art will result in a higher grade. Be creative! There are many ways to make your own work.
