What can Financial Aid Offer Me?
Snow Colleges Financial Aid Department offers several important types of financial assistance to students:

Grants
Pell Grant - This award ranges from approximately $400 to $4310 for the 2007-2008 school year and is the principal federal grant program. The amount is based on your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is calculated based on information supplied to the U.S. Department of Education in the free application for federal student aid (FAFSA).

(ACG) Academic Competitiveness Grant - To qualify for this grant a student must have graduated from high school in 2005 or later, be Pell eligible and have completed a rigorous high school program of study. Further, a student must be in his/her 1st or 2nd year of college and enrolled as a full-time student.

(SEOG) Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant - This grant has a limited budget and is awarded to students who apply early and are Pell grant eligible.

(LEAP) Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership - This grant is a Federal and State match grant awarded to students with "exceptional financial need".

(UCOPE) Utah Centennial Opportunity Program for Education - This is a state grant with a limited budget awarded to Utah residents. To qualify, students must apply early and be Pell grant eligible.

Loans
Stafford
(Subsidized and Unsubsidized) - Loans made by financial institutions and guaranteed by the Federal Government. Stafford Loans range from $500 to $4500 per year depending on need and year in school. The Federal Government pays the interest on Subsidized Stafford Loans until six months after the student leaves school. Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are essentially the same, but there are no interest subsidies. ***To complete the UHEAA master promissory note electronically, a PIN is needed. You can request this PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. This is the same PIN used to electronically sign the FAFSA.

PLUS (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students) - This loan is a loan the parent of the student apply for and receive. Therefore eligibility is based on the parents credit rating. It is guaranteed by the Federal Government, but the borrowers are responsible for the interest.

Other - Loans can be acquired through outside sources such as Key Bank, US Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, or Zions Bank. These loans are not guaranteed through any government agency. The interest rate is determined by each individual lender.

Jobs (All on-campus jobs can be viewed on the Snow College jobs page.)
Work Study -
The Federal Work-Study Program provides jobs for students with financial need. Students must be awarded "work-study" before they can apply for any work-study postition. Work-Study funds are disbursed in a monthy paycheck. These jobs are typically 8-12 hours per week.

Other Campus Jobs - All students can apply for "Work to Learn" and "Hourly" job positions.
