Admission
In order to be eligible for college or university work at Snow College,
International students need to have graduated from a high school which is
equivalent to the twelfth grade in the United States. It is also
recommended that international students graduate in the upper 50 percent
of their secondary school (high school or equivalent) in order to insure
success in their academic classes.
*Students do
not need to have a TOEFL score to be accepted at
SNOW COLLEGE.* Applicants with no
TOEFL score or with scores below 500
will be accepted into the ESL Intensive Program. For students who have no
TOEFL, Snow College gives an English placement exam at the beginning of
each session. A complete Mainstreaming Policy Statement is available from
the ESL Department.

Applicants with scores of 500 or more on TOEFL (173 or
more on the computer-based test) and a TWE (Test of Written English)
score of 4 or better will be accepted for academic work.
- Or, STEP Eiken score of Pre-1st Grade or higher will be accepted in place of a TOEFL score.

Students must come fully prepared to meet the necessary
financial obligations for the full time they will be in the United
States. It is estimated that each student will need at least $13,000*
per academic year (9 months). This does not include the cost of travel.
Below are estimated costs (subject to change without notice):

Presently, there are no loans
available for international students. International students are
eligible to apply for any academic and departmental scholarships, or the
International Student Endowment Scholarship. Students may also find
employment on campus at a minimum wage but may not work more than twenty
(20) hours per week. Off-campus work is not permitted during the first
year of study. In order for students to be issued an I-20 form, they
must make a statement concerning their financial intentions for the
entire time they plan to study at Snow College. I-20s will be
issued to students after students have received official acceptance.
Students will be notified of their acceptance when an I-20 is sent to
them.
