How to Apply

International Student Admission

In order to be eligible for college or university work at Snow College, International students need to have graduated from a high school which is equivalent to the twelfth grade in the United States. It is also recommended that international students graduate in the upper 50 percent of their secondary school (high school or equivalent) in order to insure success in their academic classes.

*Students do not need to have a TOEFL score to be accepted at SNOW COLLEGE.* Applicants with no TOEFL score or with scores below 500 will be accepted into the ESL Intensive Program. For students who have no TOEFL, Snow College gives an English placement exam at the beginning of each session. A complete Mainstreaming Policy Statement is available from the ESL Department.

  • If students wish to enter academic programs directly, they should arrange to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in their home countries and have the results sent to:

Snow College International Student Admissions

Ephraim, UT 84627 U.S.A.

(Snow College's TOEFL institutional code is 4727)

  • For information concerning dates and location of the TOEFL exam in various countries, write to or click on TOEFL, CN6155, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6155 U.S.A.

  • Applicants with scores of 500 or more on TOEFL (173 or more on the computer-based test) and a TWE (Test of Written English) score of 4 or better will be accepted for academic work.

  • Or, STEP Eiken score of Pre-1st Grade or higher will be accepted in place of a TOEFL score.

Board and room (estimate) $2,500

Personal expenses (estimate) $850

Books and supplies (estimate) $650

  • Presently, there are no loans available for international students. International students are eligible to apply for any academic and departmental scholarships, or the International Student Endowment Scholarship. Students may also find employment on campus at a minimum wage but may not work more than twenty (20) hours per week. Off-campus work is not permitted during the first year of study. In order for students to be issued an I-20 form, they must make a statement concerning their financial intentions for the entire time they plan to study at Snow College. I-20s will be issued to students after students have received official acceptance.
