Write a four to six page (not including the title page, bibliography, or endnotes, though these should certainly be present) research paper which explores some topic (previously cleared by me) in philosophy which is of interest to you. It should be typed and you should use (and cite properly) at least five sources in addition to any encyclopedias. At least one source should be from the internet, and at least one source should be a traditional paper source. All sources must be properly cited in the text and in the bibliography. See MLA Citation Guide for help on internet citations. This should be be the best paper you have ever written.
You may instead choose to write a book report of similar length and similar requirements about a philosophy book previously cleared by me. Read the book carefully and then write a detailed book report on it.
You may use any standard format, such as MLA or Chicago Manual of Style, etc., but don't invent your own citation style.
Due dates:
Clear topic: April 17, 6:00 p.m.
Rough draft: May 21, 6:00 p.m.
Final draft: June 4, 6:00 p.m.
No late papers accepted.
Also give a 5-10 minute presentation to the class class about your paper during the last few days of class.
