Dr. Francesca Sborgi Lawson grew up in a family of harpists and has performed throughout the greater New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Salt Lake areas. A Ph.D. in ethnomusicology, she conducted research as a Fulbright-Hays and National Academy of Sciences Research Fellow in the People’s Republic of China. Her research is published in The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians and The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music. Dr. Lawson also worked as a President’s Research Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley and taught at Columbia University in New York City. She is a featured as a soloist in Dreamtime, a classical harp CD, and in Galway Shawl, a CD of Celtic and Renaissance music.
