"Caught Ya!" -- Compliments from Colleagues

Nick Marsing has been helping Dani Staples and Analise Barker, two of his students, on a research project dealing with texting and anxiety, and their project was recently accepted for a national conference. The two honors students will be presenting at the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology in St. Petersburg, Florida, next January. Congratulations to Nick, Dani, and Analise.

As the semester comes to a close, it's good to pause and thank those who have helped students succeed. A sincere thank you to all faculty and staff who have helped our students in so many ways over the past few months. A big thank you to those who helped kick-off the year with a hugely successful Start Smart program. Our faculty and staff who serve as section leaders are the heart and soul of the program, and your efforts, along with the direction of Katie Justesen, are muchly appreciated.

(Please send a quick note to Marci to recognize your peers. We want to let others know of the many good things our employees do each day. Thanks so much!)

Buster's Pantry is Open

You've likely heard comments about "Buster's Pantry," and here's the scoop. The generosity of the Student Success Advisors inspired a combined effort to offer a more formal "pantry" for students who are in need of a little extra help. If you feel so inclined, you may drop off any donations (college-student-friendly-non-perishable goods) in the Student Center.

Global Alumni Team Established

The Center for Global Engagement traveled to Provo to meet up with members of the newly established Global Alumni Team (GAT). They include Snow College alumni from Russia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, and Japan. They are pursuing completion of their degrees at BYU, UVU and UofU in International relations, Chemical Engineering, Ballet, Communications and Management. The Center for Global Engagement is particularly pleased to engage with these students of excellence, all of whom have expressed an interest in promoting Snow College as an institution of excellence to more international students from around the world. Dennis Faatz, Director for Student Services in the Center for Global Engagement is responsible for GAT, and has kept in touch with close to 300 international alumni from Snow over the years. Says Dennis, "Now with Facebook..It's just easier and more enjoyable than ever to follow our students' successes around the globe!" Future GAT endeavors include return visits to Snow College and interacting with prospective international students though e-mail, Skype and other social media sites. The Center for Global Engagement aims to be supportive in any way possible while following the successes of these outstanding alumni.
