THREE NEW TRUSTEES ADDED TO SNOW'S BOARD OF TRUSTEES

EPHRAIM, Utah—August 1, 2005-Snow College today announced three additions to the board of trustees. Selected for four-year terms to the board are: Theressa L. Alder of Ephraim, Eddie L. Cox of Fairview and Mary Greathouse of Lynndyl. The three trustees were nominated by Governor Huntsman and approved by the Utah Legislature in July. The three replace Gwen McGarry of Ephraim, Kay Greene of Salt Lake and Scott Wyatt of Logan. Timothy Blackham of Moroni was also approved for a second four-year term.

"All three of these individuals are pillars in their communities," said Michael T. Benson, president of Snow College. "Each of them have devoted years of service to improving their cities and counties and they'll do the same for Snow College. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to counsel with them."

Theressa Alder owns Sanpete Valley Realty and has been a real estate agent since 1984. She also co-owned and operated Charlie's Drive-In in Ephraim from 1972-98 and was the assistant registrar at Snow College from 1970-71. Theressa's service in Sanpete County includes 18 years as a board member for Sanpete Valley Hospital, 10 years on Ephraim City committees including economic development, city streets and city planning, and 25 years of service with the Mormon Miracle Pageant. Theressa earned an associate's from Snow College and lives in Ephraim with her husband, Charlie.

Eddie L. Cox is vice president and general manager of CentraCom, formerly Central Utah Telephone, Inc. He also serves on the board of directors of Western New Mexico Telephone, Inc. and is the owner and manager of Cox Farms. Eddie was a Sanpete County Commissioner for 10 years, Fairview City Mayor for four years and a Fairview City council member for eight years. He has also served as the county economic development chair, chairman of the Six-County Association of Governments and chairman of the Sanpete County Mayors and Commissioners. Eddie has also devoted many years to scouting. He earned an associate's from Snow College and lives in Fairview with his wife, Lesa.

Mary Greathouse is a housewife who has served her community significantly while raising seven children. She has been a PTA president at two schools and on the PTA boards at four schools. She is a member of the Delta Technical Center Community Council, the Community Emergency Response Team and was town clerk and treasurer. Mary has been a political party chairperson and a state and county delegate. She has authored three books: "Distant Whistles, the History of Lynndyl, Utah," "A Priceless Heritage," and "The Long, Hard Journey, an Account of the Martin Handcart Company." Mary earned a bachelor's in education from Brigham Young University and resides in Lynndyl with her husband, Greg.

Snow College
Snow College, founded in 1888, serves approximately 3,000 students at its Ephraim campus. The college provides general education and applied technology programs leading to Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Pre-Engineering degrees, and certificates of completion in a number of occupational areas. Once owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Snow College became a state college in 1932.
