EPHRAIM, Utah—December 16, 2002—Snow College today announced that the Osmond Brothers will be in concert Thursday, January 23rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Activity Center on Snow’s Ephraim campus. Tickets are $15 for floor seats, $12 for general admission and $10 for children under 12. Tickets go on sale Monday, December 30 and may be purchased by dialing (435) 283-7121 or at the door on the night of the concert. The Osmonds will give 50% of the concert proceeds to Snow’s Horne School of Music for student scholarships.
The Osmond Brothers consist of Wayne, Merrill and Jay – three of the original four Osmonds who first performed on the Andy Williams Show back in 1962. Alan, the oldest and fourth member of the original Osmond Brothers, and Merrill currently live in Sanpete County with their families. The Osmonds will showcase a number of their hits and demonstrate their versatility by performing Pop, Rock & Roll, Country and Gospel songs.
“The Osmonds have agreed to perform a concert similar to their critically acclaimed show at Thanksgiving Point last February,” said Dr. Mark Ammons, chair of the Horne School of Music at Snow College. “I’m particularly grateful to Merrill who is anxious to help Snow College continue to provide quality music instruction and training for students. By giving back 50% of the proceeds to Snow College, the Osmonds will provide significant help to Snow music students.”
The Osmond brothers have been performing together for 45 years – 40 of those in the national spotlight. The Osmond family has sold over 80 million records and been awarded 47 gold and platinum albums. During a 7-year period in the 70’s the family was awarded 23 gold albums. The family surpassed even the success of Elvis Presley and the Beatles when they were awarded 9 gold albums in 1971.
The Osmond Brothers currently perform for several months of each year in Branson, MO at the Country Tonite Theatre. In 1995, ’96 and ’97 they were awarded best vocal group in Branson.
