CRANE THEATRE’S FIFTIETH AND FINAL SEASON FEATURES FOUR CLASSIC TALES

Season Tickets on Sale for $18

EPHRAIM, Utah—September 2, 2002—Snow College today announced the fiftieth and final season for the Crane Theatre, which will be torn down following the school year. The theatre will be replaced by the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Performing Arts Center currently under construction and scheduled for completion in August 2003.

The Crane Theatre’s final season features three comedies and one drama. They are:

The Odd Couple – October 2-5, 2002

Neil Simon’s most popular comedy is a favorite of theatregoers everywhere. Can two divorced men – one a poker-playing slob and the other a meticulous “Mr. Clean” – share an apartment without driving each other crazy? No! There is scarcely a moment in this classic comedy that is not hilarious.

The Diary of Anne Frank – November 20-23, 2002

Frances Goodrich’s and Albert Hackett’s harrowing yet touching story of Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who, while coming of age during World War II is forced into hiding with her family and friends in a tiny attic in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam.

Harvey – February 12-15, 2003

Mary Chase’ comedy is a story about a loveable town drunk, Elwood P. Dowd, who finds a best friend, Harvey – a 6’3 ½” white rabbit that no one else can see. Deeply concerned, Harvey’s Aunt Veta touches off a series of uproarious complications.

Love’s Labour’s Lost – April 9-12, 2003

William Shakespeare’s comedy is about a young king and his pals who swear an oath to avoid the company of women and devote themselves to study. Upon the arrival of the Princess of France and three of her ladies, the inevitable occurs and their oath melts in a glittering shower of word play unequaled – even by Shakespeare himself.

All plays will be directed by Dr. Kim Christison or Mike Helms, co-chairs of the theatre arts department at Snow College, and will feature Snow College students.

“We hope the fiftieth and final season in the Crane Theatre is it’s finest,” said Dr. Christison. “We have a strong selection of plays and a strong base of students to perform them. The combination creates one of the best values from the arts community one will find this year.”

Season tickets are on sale now at $18 for adults and $16.50 for seniors and high school students. To purchase tickets one play at a time adults pay $6 and seniors and high school students $5.50. All Snow College students are admitted free with their activity card. To purchase tickets visit the box office at the Crane Theatre or call (435) 283-7411.
