EPHRAIM, Utah—March 4, 2005—Snow College today announced that all 13 members of the DEX team who competed at the state competitions at Dixie State College on February 26-27 qualified for National Competition. They competed against students from University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah State University, Weber State University, Southern Utah University, Utah Valley State College, Salt Lake Community College and College of Eastern Utah.

The DEX Club, or Delta Epsilon Chi, is a national organization for students seeking careers with emphasis in areas of marketing, management, merchandizing and entrepreneurship.

Kami Robinson took first place in Design and second place in Apparel and Accessories; Sam Brito and Tiffany Russel took first place in Sports and Entertainment; J.P. Parish took second place in Advertising Campaign and third place in Marketing Management; Ryan Sorenson took second place in Hospitality; Devin Ball and Chris Larsen took second place in Sports and Entertainment and Josalyn Shaw took third place in Restaurant and Food Management. Additionally, Brad Dyreng, Katrina Klosa, Paul Dyreng, Casey Dyreng and Melissa Stephens all qualified for national competition.

Advisors for the DEX Club are Doug Dyreng and Ivo Peterson, both Snow College professors.

“Not only did all 13 of our students qualify for nationals but Snow placed in all eight categories,” said Peterson, “Snow College students won two and placed second in four of eight categories. That’s significant because this competition included all of the major Utah universities and colleges.”
