EPHRAIM, Utah—July 17, 2002—Snow College today announced that Dr. Richard L. White will be the executive vice president for Snow’s Richfield campus. Dr. White, currently Snow’s vice president of academic and student affairs, will oversee Snow’s academic programs and personnel in Richfield beginning August 15. Dr. White will relocate from Ephraim to Richfield in the near future.
“I am delighted that Dr. White has accepted this responsibility and am absolutely convinced that he is the perfect fit for this opportunity,” said Michael T. Benson, president of Snow College. “That he and his wife, Rolayne, have committed to relocate to Richfield is indicative of their desire to fully integrate into the community. By so doing, they will represent Snow College and its commitment to educating students on a daily basis to the citizens of Richfield and surrounding areas.”
Dr. White has 28 years of experience in higher education administration including 16 as vice president of academic affairs at Snow College. Student affairs were added to his responsibilities 18 months ago. Dr. White also worked at Brigham Young University for 8 years in continuing education and student life and two years at Central Florida University as the director of the management institute in the College of Business Administration.
Dr. White holds a
bachelor’s of history and political science from Utah State, a master’s in
higher educational administration from Harvard and a doctorate in higher
educational administration from Pennsylvania State. While working on his
doctoral dissertation, Dr. White was selected as the Kellogg Fellow in
Education for the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Mich. where he
worked as a program assistant.
Snow College
Snow College, founded in
1888, serves approximately 2,800 students at its Ephraim campus, and
approximately 600 students at its Richfield campus. The college provides general education and applied technology
programs leading to Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of
Applied Science and Associate of Pre-Engineering degrees, and certificates of
completion in a number of occupational areas.
Once owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Snow
College became a state college in 1932.
