SNOW TO HOLD FIRST ANNUAL FRIENDS AND FAMILY WEEKEND SEPTEMBER 27-28

Event Features Friday Night Activities for Kids, Teens, Students and Parents and Culminates with a Saturday Carnival and Badger Football Game

EPHRAIM, Utah—September 20, 2002—Snow College today announced the first annual Friends and Family Weekend – an event for current and potential Snow students, their parents and siblings. Sanpete County residents are also invited to attend.

Snow College president, Michael T. Benson, will kick off the weekend by welcoming friends and family at an ice cream social 7:00 p.m. Friday in the courtyard immediately south of the Noyes Building. Activities following President Benson’s welcome include a western swing dance and a movie in the Greenwood Student Center (GSC) and Club Noyes – live jazz music provided by Snow instrumentalists on the top floor of the Noyes Building.

Saturday activities begin at 10:00 a.m. with a carnival, Frisbee golf and campus tours. A tailgate party begins at 11:00 p.m. All activities will take place on the field east of the GSC and end just prior to Snow’s football game against Dixie State beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $6 and may be purchased at the Friends and Family ticket table in the GSC or by dialing 1-800-848-3399. One ticket admits the holder to all Friends and Family activities and into the football game Saturday afternoon. Students purchasing tickets by Wednesday, September 25 will have their name entered in a drawing for prizes donated by local merchants. Tickets may also be purchased at the event.

“Snow is first and foremost an institution of higher learning but our students gain significant experience and have a lot of fun participating in the many college programs and campus activities,” said President Benson. “I hope friends, family and Sanpete County residents will come have a look at Snow and enjoy some food, fun and camaraderie.”
