GIFT TO SNOW COLLEGE BOLSTERS NURSING PROGRAM

Snow has Increased Nursing Offerings

EPHRAIM, Utah—January 20, 2005—Snow College today announced a $50,000 gift from an anonymous donor that will create a scholarship endowment for nursing students at Snow Richfield. The gift will be of tremendous benefit to the many students choosing to study nursing – currently a high-demand profession in Utah.

“We’re very grateful to the donor – who not only supports the nursing program but is giving significantly to the Sevier Valley Center,” said Michael T. Benson, president of Snow College. “Snow College needs to be the center of nursing training in Central Utah and gifts like this help make it possible.”

Snow also announced that it now offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class at Juab High School in Nephi. The CNA or Practical Nursing program is a prerequisite for entry into any nursing program and qualifies students to be employable at care centers. In addition to Nephi, Snow offers the course in Richfield, Ephraim, Delta, Fillmore and Tintic.

Additionally, Snow offers a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) certificate through its Richfield and Ephraim campuses. Students attending either the Richfield or Ephraim campuses may obtain a Registered Nurse (RN) associate’s offered by Weber State through EdNet.
