TITAN ERA TO BEGIN FOR SNOW COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Titan Trimble announced as head football coach for Snow College at Players Meeting

EPHRAIM, Utah—January 13, 2005—Snow College today announced that Titan Trimble is the new head football coach. Bob Trythall, Snow’s athletic director, made the announcement in a meeting with players this afternoon. The coaching position opened just before Christmas when the College and former head coach, Jeff Kilts, decided to go in different directions.

Trimble takes over after five seasons as offensive coordinator at Snow College. He coached 7 All American and All conference players during that time including: quarterbacks, Paul Peterson and Jason Coutts; wide receivers, Aaron Boone, Chad Mickelsen and A.J. Smith; and offensive linemen, Deuce Lutui and Iosefa Robins. Trimble coached two All conference players as well – wide receivers, Brian Romney and Ameen Shaheen.

“Titan is the right man at the right time for Snow College,” remarked Michael T. Benson, president of Snow College. “He’s demonstrated to me that he understands the uniqueness of Snow’s football program. I believe he is the coach to highlight our strengths and to meet and overcome our challenges.”

Trimble came to Snow after coordinating the offenses for one season at Cottonwood High and four seasons at Ogden High. Trimble played college football at Weber State University where he was a wide receiver for Dave Arslanian. He earned a bachelor’s in history from Weber State and is currently working on a master’s from the University of Phoenix. Trimble and his wife Brandy reside in Ephraim and have five children – including triplets born over the holidays.

“Titan hits the ground running as head football coach,” said Bob Trythall, Snow’s athletic director. “He’s been here and has demonstrated the work ethic, desire to engage with the community, and rapport with Snow players, faculty and staff needed in a head coach.”

Trimble will retain several coaches from last season in hopes of maintaining some continuity. Tyler Hughes will be offensive coordinator, Justin DeCol will remain as secondary coach and Jason Ah You will continue coaching the defensive line.

“Continuity is something difficult to maintain in junior college football,” said Trimble. “These coaches believe in my direction for Snow College football and have already demonstrated loyalty and hard work in their positions.”

Trimble hopes to retain Steve Coburn as defensive coordinator and John Hunter as offensive line coach. Those decisions will be made next week.

Trimble has large shoes to fill. Former head coach, Jeff Kilts, led the Badgers to three straight top 15 finishes in the NJCAA poll – including a fourth-ranked finish in 2003 and a fourteenth-ranked finish in 2004. The Badgers have also participated in two straight bowl games – defeating Georgia Military in the Golden Isles Bowl 27-21 in 2003 and Rochester Community College 45-7 in the Zions Bank Top of the Mountains Bowl in 2004.
