Bonjour! Buongiorno!

I am pleased to welcome you to my homepage and to tell you a little bit about myself and the French and Italian courses here at Snow College.

In Fall 2001 I joined the faculty at Snow College where I teach French and Italian, advise the French Club (Voilà quoi!) and the Italian Club (Il Circolo italiano), and lead student travel groups to Europe.

My enthusiasm for teaching French and Italian stems from my own enjoyment of these languages, their peoples, literature, and cultures, and from my conviction that foreign language study enriches our life and community. Through foreign language study we develop abilities to communicate successfully in another culture and to think in new ways, thereby increasing our capacity--and our desire--to understand others as well as ourselves. Therefore, my teaching focuses on learning to think and communicate in culturally appropriate ways, no matter which language we're speaking.
