Donald (Donnie) Kiffmeyer
Donnie Kiffmeyer has been actively involved in building with natural materials since 1991. His focus has been earthen building techniques including adobe, rammed earth, cob and most recently, earthbags. His work with earthen buildings has led him to become an experienced earth and lime plasterer, creating vivid and durable exterior and interior finishes.
He and his partner, Kaki Hunter, co-authored the definitive book on the subject of earthbags, Earthbag Building: The Tools, Tricks and Techniques ( New Society Publishers, 2004)..
In addition to teaching classes and workshops, he has designed and built earthen structures for Builders Without Borders, Youth Garden Project (AmeriCorp) and the federal government (BLM) among others.
Donnie holds a degree in geology.
