Millwork / Wood WindowsWorkshop***
Artisans added intricately carved wood ornamentation to architectural styles like Victorian, Gothic Revival or Queen Anne making them unique to their era. In a climate that varies from summer desert dry to winter sub-zero temperatures this ornamentation, if not properly maintained, is among the first features of the 1800’s homes to deteriorate. This traditional course covers the practices of millwork replication and repair. Hands-on experience includes repairing existing millwork by learning fabrication, installation, and replacement of missing or damaged sections on historic buildings.
***Millwork has been combined with Architectural Wood Windows. Participants will have the opportunity to work with one great instructor while learning two distinct trades for the price of one workshop. Also see Wood Windows for more information on this newly combined workshop.
