International Center Faculty

The faculty and support staff who present the ESL and TSFL courses at Snow College are below. They are trained, experienced, and their professional goal is to help students succeed.


Diane Ogden, Assistant Professor; Director of International Center, Primary DSO, Coordinator of the ESL Conversation Program B.A. in French, Brigham Young University; M.A.T.L. (Master of Arts in Teaching Languages), the School for International Training, Brattleboro, VT; twenty years experience in teaching ESL and TSFL, all skills and all levels. Second language: French. Alex Peterson, Instructor, Assistant Director of International Center, A.A. Humanities, Snow College; B.A. English Brigham Young University; M.A.T. School for International Training. Alex has been teaching ESL for 10 years in adult education, the University of Utah, and college-preparatory independent schools in Utah and California. He also taught ESL in Mexico and Thailand. He speaks Spanish and has lived abroad in Mexico and Malaysia.

Patti Noble, Instructor, BA Business & Economics from Texas Woman's University, Masters, Brigham Young University, TSFL Certificate, Snow College. She teaches ESL college classes and is an instructor in the Adult ESL community classes. She taught in private schools for 12 years. For three years in succession, her students placed state to attend the National History Fair held in Washington D.C. She feels that teaching is a profession that invests in the future role of the world, and that it has far-reaching effects. Instruction is received by students who in turn affect the lives of others.

 

Sharon Kilmer, Assistant Professor, B.S. in Education, North Texas State University; M.S. in Education with certification in Education of the Gifted and Talented, Arkansas Tech University; She has completed graduate training in TESOL at Oklahoma City University; She has thirteen years experience in teaching ESL.

Jill Hansen, Foreign Student Advisor, AA & AS from Blue Mountain Community College, Pendleton, OR. Jill is a DSO for Snow College, helps students with immigration issues, status issues, and manages student transfers.

Becky Adams, International Admissions Assistant and Secretary for the Humanities Division
She is a graduate of Snow College.  She answers requests for information about Snow College from prospective international students; maintains international student files; prepares the admission papers; coordinates housing and airport/shuttle pickups; receipts in money paid by international students; types various reports, letters, certificates, and other correspondence as necessary.
Dennis Faatz, Director of International Student Services and Activities Program Former ski instructor, licensed Grand Canyon River guide; multifaceted 30-year background in outdoor education; seventeen years experience leading outdoor adventure field trips for international students; avid backpacker, backcountry skier, mountain biker, desert explorer. Dennis is dedicated to sharing his experience and knowledge of the outdoors with international students.  
George English Brooks, Adjunct Instructor, BA in English Literature & BA in Spanish Literature, University of Utah; TESOL certificate, University of Utah. Coordinator & instructor for Snow/Sanpete adult literacy program. Second Language: Spanish
Mitch Jenkins, Adjunct Instructor, BA in Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Utah; Instructor for Snow/Sanpete adult literacy program. Full-time academic advisor.
Dan Adams, Adjunct Instructor, BA in Spanish, Brigham Young University; MS Education Utah State University. Second language: Spanish
Pat Ellsworth, Adjunct Instructor, BA Music from University of Nevada, Reno; BA Spanish from Brigham Young University; ESL endorsement BYU. Pat has been a teacher in various positions for 12 years. Second Language: Spanish
Jeff Lamb, Adjunct Instructor  Alumnus of Snow College. B.A. Brigham Young University, major International Marketing, minor in Japan Studies. Twelve years living in Japan. Six years teaching at Snow College, Second language: Japanese.

Kory Sessions-Riseley, Adjunct Instructor, BA English, Sonama State University, TESOL Certificate. She teaches English and ESL college courses and is a former writer for TV.  She has four years of teaching experience.
