DIRECTOR OF LOW BRASS STUDIES

Rusty McKinney has been the bass trombonist with the Utah Symphony since 1989. He is a clinician for Edwards Instruments and plays an Edwards bass trombone. As a professional free-lance musician, Mr. McKinney has recorded original movie soundtracks, jazz and new age CD's and recorded with a variety of symphony orchestras. His students have successfully gone on to pursue graduate studies at the New England Conservatory, The Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School of Music among others, and have been finalists in the International Trombone Association's Lewis Van Haney Mock Orchestral Auditions. Mr. McKinney is high demand in the Salt Lake City area and is and active clinician and conductor.
