What is an Ombudsman?

The word came from Sweden where a government official is appointed to receive and investigate complaints made by individuals against abuses or capricious acts of public officials.

At Snow College The Ombudsman:

Is assigned by the President of the college to help students. This help may include, but is not limited to:

* Informing students about college policies

* Investigating complaints from students

* Helping students to achieve equitable settlements with staff or faculty
