Clubs have various avenues by which to publicize on campus. All publicity must be approved by the Student Life Office and all publicity must have the "Paw" stamped on them. No club may maintain the same publicity up around campus for more than two weeks. Failure to have the "Paw" and abide by campus publicity policies will result in your publicity being taken down and destroyed, as well as your organization being fined.

General Publicity Policies:

  • Nothing can be posted on building doors. There are no exceptions.
  • Posters cannot be hung on buildings. Posters can be hung on the wall by the Lucy Phillips Library.
  • You may not use duct tape to secure posters to the sidewalk.
  • Posters placed on sidewalks or other walkways must be laminated in order to protect them from wet weather conditions and must be affixed with clear packing tape.
  • Flyers may only be posted on appropriate posting areas in each respective building.
  • Posted flyers cannot be larger than 8.5" X 11".
  • No tape can be used in the Greenwood Student Center or Noyes Building for advertising or event decorations.
  • Sidewalk chalk is for sidewalks only and must be at least 25' from building entrances. This means you cannot chalk the Fountain or Bell Tower.
  • To have your event placed on the campus calendar, you must complete and Event Proposal.
  • To have your event placed on the Marquee, send through email or placed on the Activity Hotline, you must complete an Event Proposal and submit the appropriate publicity forms available in the Student Life Office.
  • To advertise on the KAGJ, you must contact the KAGJ.
  • To advertise within a campus building, it is best that you contact the supervisor for that building in order to gain written approval.
  • For other types of advertising on campus, please contact the Student Life Office for approval (i.e. tents, trucks, banners, etc.).
  • No trampolines are allowed on campus. There are no exceptions.

Publicity Avenues:

  1. NEWSPAPER
  • Snowdrift (on campus - it comes out every Thursday morning)
  • Manti Messenger (community)
To advertise in both newspapers, it will cost your club/organization money

To contact the Snowdrift you can call: #283-7385 or e-mail them at snowdrift@snow.edu. There office is in the Humanities Building.

To contact the Manti Messenger, call # 435-835-4241

  1. RADIO:
  • KAGJ

To advertise with the KAGJ contact Cimaron Neugebauer at #283-7426 or e-mail him at: cimcity@gmail.com.

The KAGJ is located across the street from the Noyes Building.

  1. MARQUEE

To advertise on the marquee, see Pam Finn (the secretary in the Student Life office of the GSC). You can also e-mail her your information at pam.finn@snow.edu or call her #283-7121.

  1. E-MAIL

Mass e-mails can be sent out to both students and faculty/staff campus-wide.

If you’d like to send an e-mail, talk to your advisor and have them send it from their e-mail address. For questions on sending mass e-mails, contact Ron Bradley (#283-7084) in the library.

  1. STREET CREW

“Street Crew” is when you/your club stand out on the sidewalks around campus talking to people about your activity and handing out flyers. This (word of mouth advertising) is FREE and a GREAT way to advertise!

  1. A-FRAMES

If you are a chartered club, you can use the A-frames and materials upstairs in the Student Life office. We have paint, markers, chalk, etc.
Be sure to check in with Lindsey or Pam to use these supplies FIRST!

Remember though, if you are going to use the A-frames……your club is responsible for taking down your signs AND bringing the A-frames back to the Student Life office after your activity.

  1. INSTITUTE

If you’d like, the LDS Institute will read your announcement before class starts each day – all you need to do is get your information to the secretaries at the front by 10:00am Friday (the week prior to when you’d like your announcement read).

  1. FLYERS

Your club can make flyers and stick them up around campus for your activity. However, they need to be stamped with the official publicity paw – you can get this from Pam Finn (the secretary in the Student Life office).

See the General Publicity Rules on campus policy to find out where you can and can’t hang flyers.

Also, make sure you take down your flyers after your activity.

  1. LOCAL COMMUNITY RADIO STATION

If you’d like to advertise in the community, “JD FOX” has a morning show where is just recently started the "Snow College Connection." It will air about 9:25ish each morning on the Eagle 93.7 FM. He will talk about events coming up on campus--the who, what, where, and why.

If you’re interested in advertising on the “Snow College Connection” you will need to send an e-mail to jdfox@midutahradio.com with "Snow College Connection" written in the subject line.

  1. SIDEWALK CHALK

If you are a chartered club, you may use the Student Life’s sidewalk chalk. You can borrow the supplies from the Student Life in the GSC. Talk to either Lindsey Field or Pam Finn to “check-out.” It will be your responsibility to check back in the chalk when you’re done using it.

  1. BADGER EVENT HOTLINE (#283-7101)

Snow College has an Events Hotline – the number is #283-7107.
You can call this number to get information about the weeks activities. If you like to advertise your activity on this hotline you need to e-mail Meggan Chappell (meggan.chappell@snow.edu) by FRIDAY (of the week before you would like your advertisement to run). Meggan re-records the message every Monday morning at 10:30 a.m.
