Old World Traditional Skills - Historic Masonry
Old World Traditional Skills - Wood Working Lovers
Study & Tour:
This "once in a lifetime" learning event includes an eight-day adventure touring internationally significant historic masonry castles, cathedrals, ruins, abbeys and lime kilns throughout northern England and Wales. Immerse yourself in a cultural-rich experience as you live and dine in the homes of English and Welsh host families. You'll have a hands-on opportunity to participate in a restoration project at Pen Y Bryn, a stone manor nestled against a forested hill in Wale's Snowdonia Mountains. It dates back to the year 1211, is built on a Roman settlement and is the last known residence of Llewelyn ap Gynedd, the last Welsh-born Prince of Wales. The Royal Commission of Ancient Monuments declared Pen Y Bryn to be "the most important site discovered in Wales in this century." It is one of the most significant historic buildings in all of Wales.
