Pre-Pharmacy

Snow College provides superior preparation if you plan to major in science and medical fields. For evidence of this superior preparation, simply take a look at the record of Snow College students taking the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT). Of the 21 students who have taken the test over the over the past 4 years, 6 have scored in the 99th percentile. Ten have scored in the 95th percentile or above. In the year 2000 alone 5 scored in the 95th percentile or above. The average student from Snow College scored higher than 91 percent of those taking this national PCAT. This test has 5 parts: 1)Chemistry, 2) Biology, 3) Quantitative Ability (Mathematics), 4) Verbal Ability, and 5) Reading Comprehension. The high scores consistently obtained by our students demonstrate the well-rounded educational preparation available at Snow College.

Of the 8 Snow students who applied to Pharmacy School at the University of Utah in the year 2000, all were accepted. Even though Snow College represents only about 2 percent of all the college students in Utah, 17 percent of the university's entering Pharmacy class were from Snow.
