Here are 10 reasons why we think Snow is a Great Place to Start if You’re Planning on Transferring to a 4-year College or University:
- Our freshman and sophomore classes are the smallest in the state, and are a lot smaller than those at most 4-year colleges and universities.
- Whether you know your major or not, Snow is a great place to start. If you’re undecided, we’ll help you find direction. And if you have a major, we’ll help you prepare efficiently for transfer.
- You’ll get lots more personalized attention and specialized help at Snow College from your professors and instructors. So rather than being lost in the crowd . . . here, everyone will know who you are and be interested in helping you successfully reach your goals.
- Your credits at Snow College will be accepted at all Utah colleges and universities. In fact, some of our students will take their Snow credits and even apply them to a degree from a college or university outside the state. Our talented advisors and counselors will help you take the classes that will get you to your educational or career goal. Many of Utah’s major universities tell us their best transfer students come from Snow.
- Snow is one of the least expensive colleges in Utah. So, why spend twice as much going to some larger school when you can get the same freshman and sophomore classes here for a fraction of the cost?
- Snow College is ideally located in the small, safe, rural community of Ephraim, Utah just seven miles north of Manti and only an hour or so south of Provo. We’re located in the heart of Utah at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains with hunting, fishing, biking, hiking, camping and all sorts of other outdoor recreation activities in every direction. It’s a great place to go to college away from the congestion, crime and confusion of the big cities, but still close to the shopping, fun and convenience of the Provo/Salt Lake area.
- Snow is a residential campus, meaning that nearly all of our students live within a few minutes walk of their classes. And no college anywhere has a more active campus life. There are dozens of clubs, teams, service organizations and groups to join. At Snow College it doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do in high school. Here, everyone is welcome to run for office, be a club president or try out for an athletic team. No college anywhere will offer you the same level of campus activity involvement that Snow will. You are welcome and wanted here!
- It’s easy to be admitted to Snow College. We welcome everyone! All you have to do is take the ACT, or SAT I, graduate from high school or pass the GED, and send us an application with the admission fee. That’s all there is to it. We’ll make your admission process as easy and uncomplicated as possible.
- It’s also a lot easier to get a scholarship here! If you’re at least a B student and have taken the ACT, or SAT I, you have a chance at getting an academic scholarship. If you’ve been active in high school activities, student government, athletics or community/church service, you might qualify for a leadership award. More than 70% of our students get either a scholarship, financial aid or both.
- Snow is simply a great place to go to college! The academic programs are strong, the friendships are terrific, the price is affordable, and the campus life is lively, wholesome and fun. We hope you’ll join us.
