What is gender and gender identity? In what ways is gender performative, particularly
under cultural construction? What is the relationship between gender and inequality,
especially in consideration of various global lenses such as power, class, ethnicity,
etc.?
The Snow College Gender Studies Initiative seeks to engage in meaningful and explorative
dialogue about the many and complex facets of gender identity and gendered representation
using an interdisciplinar approach. The focus is on knowledge and discovery, as well
as action through rigorous academic research and civic engagement.
