Distinguished Alumnus Award Criteria

 

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is a means to recognize alumni of Snow College for outstanding professional and personal achievements. The award consists of an individual plaque and recognition presented at a special breakfast during Homecoming each year. Honorees and their family members are also invited to ride in the Homecoming Parade.

Eligibility

Any former student who received a degree or certificate from Snow College is eligible for the award.

Criteria

Candidates will be recognized for their accomplishments in their career field and/or contributions to the community through public service. Nominees should meet the following criteria to be considered for the award:

  • A nominee must be a graduate of Snow College (certificate or degree).

  • A nominee should inspire excellence in others by serving as a role model.

  • A nominee should be recognized for significant career contributions and/or achievement.

  • A nominee should have accomplished a long-lasting impact on business and/or community.

  • A nominee should demonstrate visible commitment to the well-being of the local area, state, nation or world.

    Nomination Requirements 

    A completed nomination packet must be submitted before a nominee can be considered for the Distinguished Alumnus Award. The following documents are to be included in the nomination packet:

  • A completed nomination form

  • A summary résumé of the nominee or a cover letter describing why the nominee is a distinguished alumnus

  • A brief statement describing how the nominee’s life has been shaped by a community college education

    Selection 

    The Awards Committee will review nominations and vote on the recipient(s). The Awards Committee reserves the right not to select a recipient each year.

    Deadline 

    All nomination materials must be postmarked or received in the Snow College Foundation Office (Noyes Building) no later than April 30th to be considered for that year.
