We will spend the week making a finished painting of a traditional yet dynamic still-life. We will challenge ourselves by painting common, albeit demanding subjects such as glass, water, flowers, bones, cloth and more. Throughout the process of making a painting we will consider drawing, proportion, composition, and purpose.
Ron Richmond was born and raised in Denver but has made Mt. Pleasant his home for the last 23 years where he lives with his wife, Vicki and where they raised their four children. Painting and drawing have always been his passion and he has found a love of teaching art in the last few years. Teaching is fulfilling in two significant ways: passing on the acquired knowledge and experience from years of painting and continually learning and growing as part of the teaching process. Still-life has been a dominant subject for years although the landscape and more recently, the figure, also are of keen interest. Ron has exhibited his work in galleries and museums in places such as New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Atlanta, Houston, Scottsdale and London. His work is in collections of museums, corporations and private collectors.
