Three full-time, tenure-track positions

  • Master's degree in English required (Ph.D. degree welcome). Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in rhetoric and composition or a degree in another area of English studies along with substantive coursework/training in rhetoric and composition.

  • Higher education teaching experience in composition required. Composition experience teaching technical/professional, developmental, or digital media writing welcome.

  • Higher education experience teaching lower-division literature, philosophy, or creative writing classes is welcome.

  • Ability to instruct students from diverse ethnic, economic, educational, and other backgrounds.

  • Ability and/or willingness to teach courses through a variety of delivery modes, including online and broadcast settings.

  • Ability to plan, administer, and assess writing curriculum.

  • Ability to use learning management software.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Teach fall and spring semesters on a nine-month, ongoing contract.

  • Provide instruction each semester in first- and second-year composition (three courses) and lower-division literature, philosophy, or creative writing classes (one course).

  • Assume responsibilities as a full-time tenure-track faculty member, including departmental and curriculum planning/assessment, professional and scholarly development, institutional and community service, and student recruitment and advisement.

Nine-month contract for $49,000-$51,000. This position also includes an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement.
