Description:

Snow College invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Dance with a special emphasis in Ballroom/Social Dance and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:
  • MA degree or equivalent, MFA degree preferred
  • Knowledge of ballroom, social and folk dance styles
  • Knowledge of ballet, hip-hop or other dance techniques
  • Ability to collaborate with other disciplines
  • Experience of directing a dance company
  • Ability to provide administrative support to dance department
  • Evidence of production or co-production of dance concerts
Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Instructor of Ballroom, Latin, Social and Folk dance courses
  • Instructor of interdisciplinary foundation courses in movement and other academic disciplines
  • Artistic Director of Snow College Ballroom Company
  • Producer or co-producer of two annual Snow College Dance concerts
  • Recruitment of new students
  • Provider of administrative support for the Snow College Dance department
  • Ongoing movement research practice
 
Salary: 

$50,280 per contract year
