Under the direction of the Director of Student Financial Services, this position works within the Financial Aid/ Scholarship and Veterans Office to provide information and customer service to students regarding scholarships and financial aid. This position Supports Snow College's strategic enrollment management goals by effectively assisting in the scholarship awarding and tracking process for both the Ephraim and Richfield campuses.


Minimum of a high school diploma required and an Associate Degree preferred. Knowledge of budgets and finance is also important, along with knowledge of higher education standards and procedures. Knowledge of financial aid and regulations would also be helpful. Knowledge of Elician's Banner system is recommended.

The applicant must possess computer, file keeping, office management, and strong organizational skills. Must be skilled at working collaboratively with others, problem solving and critical thinking.

Must possess extensive written and verbal communication skills and be willing to serve the public in many capacities. Must have the ability to follow complex written policies, procedures and regulations. Must be willing to work on a team, be flexible and open to other opinions, be honest and fair and have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times. This position requires excellent customer service to people in the community and on Snow's campus.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assists the Director of Student Financial Services and the Scholarship Coordinator with administering related components of the awarding process including sending out & maintaining all scholarship award contracts in a timely, accurate manner, working closely with the business, financial aid & cashier's offices in the same manner to disburse scholarship funds, evaluating eligibility to retain scholarships, and processing communications to students regarding eligibility issues and the appeals process. The Processor also cancels awards as needed under the direction of the Director of Student Financial Services.

  • Assist in using budget information available in Banner to communicate accurate, timely scholarship account information with all budget holders. Complies with annually approved budget levels.

  • Assists with evaluating eligibility to retain scholarships, and processing communications to students regarding eligibility issues and assists with the appeals process.

  • Assists in recommendations to the scholarship committee to maintain policy and scholarship documents, assists in updates to forms, updates to web pages and helps maintain accuracy of all documentation going to parents, students, high school counselors, and others in the community.

  • This position requires the processor to be trained in quality customer service to students, scholarship sponsors, and other stake holders and to provide timely, accurate, knowledgeable information about Snow College scholarships, how to apply for scholarships and other forms of financial aid, and to know what scholarship resources from other sources are available.

  • Other office procedures include efficient filing, scanning, tracking important information in Banner & other databases, & sending written correspondence.

  • Perform job related duties including regularly assisting students with the Financial Aid applications and tracking, Scholarship applications and other assignments within the Financial Aid / Scholarship Office functions.

  • Assist Development Office in awarding and disbursing Private Scholarships.

  • Other duties as assigned.
