Description:

The Student Success Center at Snow College seeks a highly collaborative student advocate on the Richfield campus to serve as the full-time Coordinator of Student Services. This position will be the public face of the Richfield Campus as students, families, and community members seek answers to questions regarding the Richfield Campus of Snow College. Specific areas of responsibility will be to answer basic questions and setup appointments with the appropriate offices/people for: Academic Advising, Admissions, Financial Aid, Disability Services, Student Life, and Scholarships. This position will also serve as the office manager for the Student Success Center on the Richfield Campus. The selected candidate will work as a member of a team of 16 highly motivated student success professionals from both campuses.

This position reports to the Director of the Student Success Center and coordinates regularly with other directors to ensure up-to-date information is communicated to community members.

Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • A minimum of two-year's experience working with college students and/or high school students in a student development, academic affairs, student services, or related capacity. Experience working with non-traditional college students is a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; report  writing and assessment skills are a plus. Ability to establish strong professional relationships with on-campus as well as off-campus stakeholders.
  • Technologically proficient with email and MS office suite required; student-information-system experience (i.e. Banner or similar) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organization skills; the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving
  • Strong commitment and motivation to contribute to the success of Snow College students
  • A working knowledge of student development theory, best practices, and FERPA are highly desirable
Major Responsibilities/Duties:

Student Services Coordination Responsibilities (75% of time):

  • Provide high quality, personalized customer service to students, families and community members as they seek answers to questions about Academic Advising, Admissions, Financial Aid, Disability Services, Student Life, and Scholarships for the Richfield Campus. Refer/make follow-up appointments as appropriate. Follow-up directly with stakeholders as appropriate. Document interactions as appropriate.
  • Stay current with Snow College policies and procedures for the areas outlined above .
  • Attend state, regional, and/or national conferences and training annually.
  • Collaborate and participate in admissions and orientation events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of the Student Success Center.

Office Management Responsibilities (25% of time)

  • Answer telephone calls, emails, and face-to-face inquiries related to Student Success
  • Assist Richfield Student Success Staff in budget management and purchasing
  • Manage 1-2 student workers (seasonally as budget allows)
  • Keep Richfield staff aware of campus activities 
  • Communicate with administrators, faculty, and students as directed
Additional Information:

Some paid travel is required of this position (conferences, meetings, training, recruitment activities, student life retreats, etc) outside of normal work hours. This may include over-night stays depending on the location of the activity attended. Occasional evening and weekend work is required of this position in support of special events.

Salary: 

$37,325 (Grade 5) annually; Snow College offers a generous benefits package including health insurance, a retirement plan, and 12 paid holidays in addition to annual leave/vacation time.

Work Hours:

This is a 12-month staff position. Normal working hours are 8:00-5:00 M-F.
