Getting the Most Out of Your Snow Online Courses

We appreciate your patience with your instructors and our help desk teams throughout our transition to online learning. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your courses, please familiarize yourself with the specifications below:

  • Check Your Courses Often
Please remember to log in to Canvas every day to check for any important updates. It is recommended that users download the Canvas Student mobile available for Apple/Android users.
  • Canvas Notification Settings
Make sure you are receiving updates for each of your courses by updating your Canvas Notification Settings. For more information about how, please view the Canvas Community's page on Changing Canvas Notification Preferences.
  • Canvas Browser Requirements
Occasionally, browsers encounter problems with Canvas features because of updates and incompatibilities. We recommends that users access their courses using Google Chrome or Mozilia FIreFox. To learn more details about browsers and plug-ins that work best with Canvas, view the Canvas Community's page on Canvas Browser Technical Requirements..
  • Canvas Time Zones
To ensure you are viewing due dates and events in the calendar correctly, set your time zone to your current location. If you do not change your time zone, all due dates and times listed in Canvas default to Mountain Time (MT). For more information about how to update your settings, view the Canvas Community's page on Setting Time Zone Preferences.
  • Submitting Assignments
Most assignments will be submitted via Canvas for the remainder of the semester. For more information about how to submit assignments, view the Canvas Community's page on How To Submit Online Assignments.
  • Respondus Lockdown Browser + Monitor
Some of your courses may be using Respondus Lockdown Browser + Monitor for exams. For more information on Respondus Lockdown Browser + Monitor. More information on final exams and how to take them Click Here for Instructions
  • Big Blue Button the "Conferencing" tool.
BigBlueButton is locate in your course by clicking the "Conference" on the left navigation bar. It enables your professor to share your audio, slides, chat, video, and desktop with students. Click this link for an overview of how to use it
