Snow College to host worldwide talent at Summer Music Festival

Rarely does such a large group of this caliber visit our state

EPHRAIM - Musicians from all over the world will be descending on Snow College next month for a “Manhattan to the Mountains” Summer Chamber Music Festival.

The workshop is slated for June 26-July 3 and will feature world renowned musicians including faculty from:

-Manhattan School of Music
-New York Philharmonic
-Metropolitan Opera Orchestra
-Milan Conservatory
-Utah Symphony Orchestra
-Snow College

Additional faculty will also participate from the University of Utah, Brigham Young University and Weber State University.

"Rarely does such a large group of this caliber visit our state," said Elaine Jorgensen from the Snow College music department. “This will be an amazing festival and workshop for students from Utah and surrounding areas.”

The festival consists of an intensive week of master classes, ensemble performing and concerts for high school, college, and graduate students. Anyone wishing to audit a day or for the week can purchase a pass

There will be public evening concerts featuring festival faculty and Utah Chamber Groups - "Intermezzo", "Orpheus Winds", and "Utah Trombone Authority, as well as Juilliard Brass Quintet.

The festival is a collaboration between the Snow College Horne School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music. Later in the summer Snow College features their Jazz Festival on July 30 - August 2 which is an existing collaboration with Juilliard School of Music's Jazz Department.
