Course Description
This is a fitness course that uses Spinning Bikes to improve overall fitness, including cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. This class is repeatable up to 2 times for credit.. (Additional fee required)
Justification
This class adds variety and expands the forms of exercise offered at Snow College. The Spinning class gives students a different way to challenge their physical fitness. Similar classes are being taught at other USHE institutions and gyms throughout the state.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of proper Spinning techniques, such as sprinting, jumping, and hill climbing, by teaching a section of one class period.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of Target Heart Rate (THR) and its significance in basic exercise and weight management by keeping a Heart Rate log.
Course Content
Proper Spinning techniques will be taught. The students will participate by Spinning during each class session.
