Course Description

This is a fitness course that uses Spinning Bikes to improve overall fitness, including cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. This class is repeatable up to 2 times for credit.. (Additional fee required)

Justification

This class adds variety and expands the forms of exercise offered at Snow College. The Spinning class gives students a different way to challenge their physical fitness. Similar classes are being taught at other USHE institutions and gyms throughout the state.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge of proper Spinning techniques, such as sprinting, jumping, and hill climbing, by teaching a section of one class period.
  2. Students will demonstrate an understanding of Target Heart Rate (THR) and its significance in basic exercise and weight management by keeping a Heart Rate log.

Course Content

Proper Spinning techniques will be taught. The students will participate by Spinning during each class session.
