New Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services Announced

Jacob Dettinger

July 23, 2015

Ephraim, UT -- Snow College announced today that Jacob Dettinger has accepted the Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services position. Dettinger currently serves as the college’s Interim Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services and Director of Budget and Finance. Of his appointment, Dettinger says, “I am extremely humbled and also excited to serve in this role. I look forward to the opportunity of helping my alma mater continue its storied success. Over the past four years, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences and associations shared with my competent colleagues. Together we will continue to strengthen Snow College.”

Brian Foisy was announced to fill this position in late-June and has since withdrawn due to a personal/family situation. He has accepted a similar position at another institution.

Dettinger is a graduate of Manti High School, Snow College, and Utah State University. Upon returning to Snow College as an employee, he has served as the Director of Budgeting, Director of Revenue, and Internal Auditor. Prior to his employment at Snow College, Dettinger worked as a senior auditor in the private sector.

President Carlston said, “I am pleased Jake has accepted this appointment. He has demonstrated strong leadership and knowledge in the various roles he has held at the college, and I have every confidence in him. The college is in a strong position and will continue to thrive financially and otherwise under Jake’s leadership. Jake is a bright Snow College alumnus, who is committed to the long-term success of this institution, and we congratulate him.”

Dettinger fills the position vacated by Marvin Dodge who left last year to accept a position at Southern Utah University. Spencer Hill has served as Vice President for Finance and Administrative Services for the past thirteen months and recently retired from his sixteen year career at the college. Dettinger capably interviewed for the position following a national search, led by faculty member Rick Wheeler and a sixteen-member, college-wide committee.

Dettinger and his wife, Rebecca, live in Manti and are the parents of three sons and one daughter.
