On Thursday morning, the Utah State Building Board ranked all state agency requests and included the proposed Snow College Huntsman Library/Classroom Building as project number five. The proposed library had been ranked as project number 3 by the State Board of Regents last month -- in a tie with Salt Lake Community College's request -- but moved ahead of both SLCC and the University of Utah to move into the second slot for higher education projects just behind Weber State University.

Many factors are considered in this ranking, including the numbers compiled by the Regents in their Q and P catergorization. The fact that Snow College was one of only 3 institutions with enrollment gains helped push the project up the list. Being ranked this high means the project has a very good probability to be fully funded by the State Legislature next February. The proposed Library has broad support and funding support, including $2 million from the Huntsman Family, $1 million from Sanpete County, $200,000 from the Federal Government, and $100,000 from the City of Ephraim.
