I grew up in West Valley City, UT. I struggled through math until my 10th grade year. In Algebra 2, I learned that math is just puzzles, and problem solving is just finding the right puzzle piece. I didn't suddenly become a math whiz, but learned to love the process. I met my husband Jed Rasmussen in Logan while I was finishing my last year of school. After he graduated in 2008 we moved to Iowa City, Iowa for my husband to get his PhD in Microbiology. We lived in Iowa for 7 years and I loved it. It's true what they say about people being so nice in the midwest. We moved back to Utah in 2015 for my husband to start teaching at Snow College.
We have 4 crazy kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a hamster. When I'm not doing math I like running, playing board games, reading, and being outside.
