About

When I was little, we moved around a lot.  We lived in various Utah cities and even spent 1 year in Dallas, TX before settling in West Jordan where I attended Kearns High School.  As a child, I spent many weeks each summer staying with my grandparents in Kamas which was a really small town at the time.  I much preferred the small town vibe to the big cities which is one reason I am happy to be here at Snow.

Another reason is that I value education.  I have always loved learning and have spent many years in school.  I enjoy a wide variety of subjects including math, statistics, artificial intelligence, data science, physics, chemistry, music, molecular biology, psychology, Spanish, and PE.  After high school, I went to college at USU in Logan and earned a bachelor's degree in computer science with a minor in mathematics.  I chose CS because math was my favorite subject and wanted to make money using my brain.  It worked.  I spent almost 20 years as a software engineer.  During that time, I got married, had two kids and went to college again. 3 different times!  I earned a graduate certificate and two Master's degrees.  At some point, I decided I wanted to return to school yet one more time, but this time to stay forever as a teacher.  I really enjoy my job here at Snow and am glad I made the change.

Other than being crazy about school and learning, I consider myself a fairly normal person that likes normal things.  I like music.  I play piano and guitar.  I like sports.  I ski and swim and bike.  I like ultimate frisbee, ping pong, pickleball, tennis, and racquetball.  I like reading fantasy and sci-fi novels.  I like epic movies.  I play video games.  My wife Stephanie went to Snow College and now works here in the nursing department.  Our two children are awesome.
