Scholarships

One of our highest priorities at Snow College is to increase the amount of scholarship assistance available to incoming and returning students. Scholarships help to make students’ dreams become a reality and give them the opportunity to reach their goals. Payroll Deduction

Securities

For gifts of securities, please notify the Snow College Foundation by a letter of intention at the address below outlining the specifics of the gift, area to be supported, and method of transfer. If the stock is held in your brokerage account it can often be transferred directly to a Snow College account. When the college receives notification, it will promptly contact your banker or broker to arrange disposition of the securities. If your contribution is closely held stock or a mutual fund, please contact the Snow College Foundation for information regarding the acceptance process for these types of gifts. If you hold your own stock certificates, send them, along with a letter of intention, by ordinary first class mail, without endorsement, assignment, or other notation to the Snow College Foundation.

Under separate cover, forward by first-class mail, a stock power (one for each certificate) endorsed in blank (your signature only, exactly as your name appears on the face of the certificate) and bearing a signature guarantee from a bank officer along with a copy of the letter of intention mailed with the certificate. Stock power forms are readily available from any bank or brokerage house or from the Snow College Foundation. Planned/Legacy Gifts

Snow College welcomes your deferred or planned gifts. These gifts may take the form of bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, property, pooled income funds, charitable lead trusts, retirement plans, life insurance policies, and many more.

The official legal bequest language for Snow College is: "I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Snow College Foundation, a body politic and corporate of the State of Utah, [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."

Individuals who include the College in their estate plans are invited to notify the College to become members of the Heritage Society. The Heritage Society is a special group that recognizes donors who notify us of their thoughtful gift intentions through an estate provision, regardless of the amount.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Corporate matching gifts are a great way for Snow College alumni, parents, and friends to maximize personal contributions to the College and increase the impact of their gift. By taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of a contribution. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your Human Resources Department. If your company matches, you can obtain the forms directly through your Human Resources Department; Snow College is also happy to assist. Please note that some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.

How do I get my gift matched?

Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Most corporate procedures are simple:

• Request a Matching Form from your company.

• Complete and submit the form to Snow College along with your gift.

• Snow College will verify the completed form and return it to the company.

• Completed forms can be sent with your personal gift to:

Memorial and Honor Gifts

Honor a loved one by donating in memory or honor of the individual. Honorees or their families will be notified of your donation. Scholarships can be set up in honor of individuals by meeting the minimum threshold. Please see scholarship and endowment sections above for details on thresholds.

We can create a unique link for your loved one to make gifts in their memory/honor. These links can be used on obituary websites to make donations in lieu of flowers. Please contact the Advancement Office at (435) 283-7060 to create a unique link for others to give toward your loved one.

Volunteer Time

Alumni and friends can help students, staff, and other alumni have enriching experiences by volunteering their time to Snow College. Volunteer opportunities include: job-shadow mentors, resume editing, conducting mock-interviews, attending job fairs, networking with students at Snow or those who have transferred to 4 year institutions, becoming an Alumni Board member, or helping with Alumni events.
