Justification: Most U.S. schools of business now place a strong focus on experiential education and particularly travel experiences domestically and internationally. This course is designed to provide a short-term cultural and educational experience for Snow College students, which will assist them in competing for employment and educational opportunities. This course is also in line with Snow College's mission of engagement and innovation.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to analyze and identify important elements of business management, technology, marketing, customer service, and/or other valuable business skills, as applied to a particular locale or industry. During the travel experience, students will apply their business knowledge to the local culture, trade, industries, and market. These insights will be documented in brief written responses throughout the travel experience and in a comprehensive analysis upon return. Students will receive feedback from the instructor on submitted assignments.

Students will explore cross-cultural perspectives; they will identify practices, behaviors, issues, and resources that 1) distinguish the travel destination from the student's own background, and 2) connect to the student's own background. At the end of the travel experience, students will be asked to take a comprehensive view of all readings and assignments from the course. Through a written document or a presentation, students will articulate observations, including comparing and contrasting the travel destination and culture with the student’s own background and culture. The presentation or written assignment will be assessed by the instructor, and feedback will be provided.

Students will be able to summarize their individual travel experiences and formulate, in verbal and written formats, methods for applying newly acquired knowledge and experiences to resumes, college entrance applications, job interviews, and other important opportunities.
As part of the final written reflection for the course, students will be required to explain how the travel experience can help leverage future opportunities. Students will write possible responses to select job interview questions and show how the travel experience could be added to his or her resume. Feedback will be provided by the instructor.
