About

I was raised in Ogden, Utah. I am an Assistant Professor of Physics at Snow College where I have taught astronomy, physics, and engineering courses since 2018. I serve as the Assistant Director of the Snow Planetarium where I help run and create shows for the planetarium and supervise the creation, design, and upkeep of science displays at the Graham Science Center. I am the Snow College Trustee of the NASA Utah Space Grant. I enjoy teaching physics classes and providing STEM outreach activities to the community including planetarium shows, star parties, and physics demos. I am also the Director of the Service-Learning Program at Snow.

I graduated with a PhD in Physics from Utah State University where I was a Utah NASA Space Grant Consortium Fellow. I conducted research in the Atmospheric Imaging Lab with Dr. Michael Taylor in the field of aeronomy. I studied atmospheric gravity (buoyancy) waves and temperature variability in the mesosphere utilizing imaging and satellite measurements from the Andes Lidar Observatory in Chile and several stations in Antarctica using image and signal processing. As part of my research, I have traveled to Finland, Argentina, New Zealand, as well as McMurdo and South Pole Stations in Antarctica.
