Experience Pays Off

Colby Banner, a very impressive student currently attending Snow College, recently shared his story about his success in job seeking. He works with a local company called Viranim where he has recently been promoted. Through his diligence and time in seeking a job that was right for him on Career Badger, five different opportunities have presented themselves while he has attended Snow. He has worked three of those five jobs. Those included working at a call center, working with a company out of California, and a marketing position at Snow College West Campus.

He began his search on Career Badger about a month before his first semester, hoping to get a head start on the job hunt so that he was ensured an opportunity. Indeed, his diligence served him well and has done so every time he has applied through Career Badger. On his resume, along with job experience and education, he included service that he has done. Employers were able to look at his resume and admire who he is and what he has done. The skills he has obtained from his service and unique work experience have been really valued.

Colby shared some advice for the students at Snow College as well stating, “build professionalism in every single job, professionalism matters!”. He encourages all to show up early to interviews and dress appropriately to show your dedication to the job. Colby says, “[Career Badger] is my go-to” and he continues to prove that it works. He has built up skills that keep helping him in every job that include being professional, learning new technology, and letting his communication skills grow.
