Private Scholarships

Many of our scholarships come from generous donations to Snow College. The requirements to receive and/or keep these private scholarships are set by the individual, foundation, or company making the donation. To obtain a private scholarship, you must be officially admitted to Snow College, and complete the private scholarship application. This must be completed by the March 1st deadline. An application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) is also required for many of these awards. Utah law no longer requires that you verify lawful presence in the United States to apply for a private scholarship. Please make sure that when you apply, you submit all required documentation.

The requirements to keep, length and amount of each private scholarship varies. If you are awarded a private scholarship, you will be required to write a thank you letter to the donors (see sample thank you letter). The donor information for your thank you letter and any deadlines will be provided in your scholarship contract. This will need to be completed before any scholarship funds will be released to you.

If you are applying for a need-based private scholarship, you will be required to complete the FAFSA. This can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Snow College’s priority deadline for completing the FAFSA is June 1st of each year. If you are an International student and ineligible to complete the FAFSA, you will need to complete the Financial Statement found here
