  • PSpice

Objectives: 

  • Become familiar with PSpice

Preparation: 

Equipment and Parts: 

  • Computer running PSpice Release 9.1 Software

Procedure: 

  • Work through the Procedure from Lab #6 using PSpice
    1. Draw the circuit from the Lab #6 Preparation using PSpice.
    2. Simulate the circuit to find VOC and ISC.
    3. Calculate RTH.
    4. Attach a load resistor equivalent to RTH. Simulate to find the voltage across the load resistor and the current through the resistor. Calculate the power absorbed.
    5. Draw the Thevenin equivalent circuit, including the load resistor.
    6. Simulate to find the voltage across the load resistor and the current through the resistor. Calculate the power absorbed.
    7. Draw the Norton equivalent circuit, including the load resistor.
    8. Simulate to find the voltage across the load resistor and the current through the resistor. Calculate the power absorbed.

Conclusion: 

  • Discuss what you learned and also discuss the usefulness of PSpice.
